Albert Mohler, president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary has written, "Time and time again, God’s people have been rescued by a recovery of biblical teaching and preaching. The right preaching of the Word of God is the first essential mark of the church. As the Reformers made clear, where that mark is absent, there is no church at all."
At WORDfirst our primary task is to preach and teach the Word of God first and foremost.
"Jesus' ministry included feeding the hungry, healing the sick, loving the outcast, and befriending the sinner. But we must never forget that Jesus' ministry began with preaching. Thus, preaching is the first priority of ministry that leads God's mission, which is accompanied by various other ministries that support, supplement, and sustain the preaching of God's Word in truth with passion...." Excerpt from Mark Driscoll's Vintage Church, p. 90.
In 2 Timothy 4:1-3 Paul told Timothy to preach! "I charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions...."
Our vision is two-fold: to provide relevant, practical Bible teaching at Bible conferences, family camps, spiritual retreats, and missionary field forums, to help people know Christ and live for him; and to offer opportunities for people to invest their energy and finances in various international initiatives including relief/development projects and short term missions.
